I need to lose 55 pounds to reach this goal.

i am in my first year PhD and i have written 1 paper so far that has been published in conference proceedings, 1 is pending review, and 3 more I was co-author on….

but i would like to get a paper i wrote published in a journal. .. journals are more official & reputable than conference proceedings…

Getting out of debt is something that I would like to do before I graduate.

Last night was my Bday and I did not buy any fast food! yay

I need to stop accomadaring myself to everyone elses expectations. The more I do so, the more I confuse myself. I can’t tell who I pretend to be and who i am anymore.

Not getting any new clothes, but I am psyched that I am actually getting a new pair of casual shoes. I cannot remember the last time I had a pair of those. lol. All of the pairs I have now are dress shoes and one pair of running shoes.

It was so much fun last night at Ticoz. I loved it.

My 15 year old daughter and myself moved back home to Oregon after the death of my husband. I have been home for about 3 months and have finally gotten a job, maybe even two jobs, but my job does not start till Nov. 29th. I have a friend that has been putting us up, but the arrangement with the landlords was for 3 mons. and time is up. I have found a house and only need 800.00 to move in. Rent is only 400.00 a month which is un heard of around here and I am blessed to have found this little house, but don’t have the money to move in. I have went every where and can get no help. finally…. I’m done with all my classes. Now, I began filling out forms and waiting for approval to take my state exam. In the mean time studying for the state exam.

ahhhhh so close but yet so far…...

I went for an errand and noticed that my car smells REALLY good inside. Just like fresh-baked pumpkin pie. But I haven’t been baking and it’s been over a month since I cleaned the car, so I have no idea why it smells this good. Makes me happy, but how weird is that?

Seven fifty freaking two am! Yessssssss! Of course, this is entirely thanks to W’s nosebleed which had me up at dark o’clock this morning worrying and fussing. But oh sweet yay! for getting here before 8am…and not a single Suit in sight to witness my timely triumph! Hmmmmmm…just realized this means I can leave at 4:52pm today! Oh sweet YAy OF THE YAY!

I was jogging the other day and listening to my Sansa Express mp3 player. My mix of songs is well-varied and I cobbled it together quickly one day last week, so I didn’t know exactly what to expect; when Petit Poulet came on, I was comforted, yet again, by the words and sound of the music. It made me think of ths list and I just knew it had to be on it. I’m sure there are other songs that I can hear that will comfort me, and I’ll add them as I come across them.

I’ve been pondering whether I should turn my independent website into a page on Facebook, for this one particular project, and I’ve decided to give it a try. It’s the kind of thing that is evolving organically, and I think the versatility of FB will be just what I need for this.

WHY IS THIS SO HARD!?
I think I’m going to mix this goal with having to pack and move.

If I can get everything packed up by the twentieth of November, I’ll take myself to go see a movie.

Thanksgiving is quickly coming, so I decided to try a pumpkin pie. Awesome, if I do say so. Also, I made potato soup earlier in the week. That had a few issues early on, but turned out pretty good.
I may try smashed sweet potatoes next week.

The last few days have been a little disastrous to say the least because I keep forgetting that I’ve put stuff in the oven.
Yesterday was “soggy overcooked pasta with black inedible onion, shriveled mushrom and something that used to be a tomato, bake”. This morning I found out what cheese on toast with tomatoes looks like after half an hour under a grill. Last pieces of bread too.

When I’m using a recipe I usually set a timer, but if it’s something I know how long it takes I never do. It’s only when I forget “whatever-it-is” is in there that things go wrong. I should start setting one, I obviously need it.
