still not working out so well.. 2 minutes ago

I love to read. LOVE it… The last time I read a book where I didn’t have to learn something? hhmmm well in the summer when I was camping I got nearly halfway through “Wicked” by Gregory Mcquire. Now I will point out at this time I am not a slow reader by any means. I used to be able to polish off a novel in a day or two given I had some time to sit and read undisturbed.. now? Heck I have NO IDEA lol I am now in catering season, so any time I may have been able to make for free time is now over. It is just after 7 pm- I just got home from work so now while I am cooking supper I am jotting this down, I am making natcho’s – how lame.. I just finished making herbed lemon salmon and prime rib for my clients and here I am about to scarf down natcho’s so I can get outside and feed the animals and empty the toilets. Once I am done that I will need to clean the house cause it is getting outta hand again. While Iam doing that laundry so I have clean clothes for catering tommorow and tommorow night. I aslo cater saturday and than again (free) for a friend sunday. Glutton for punishment? I think so… I thought this goal would be easier but it just isn’t so far:( I even tried joining the flylady site for routines but they send so much damn mail I don’t have time to read any of it! So starting again for some me time. I did take a lovely 15 mins in the truck today when I was waiting to pick up Dare – I had a mother earth magazine I bought last month and haven’t had time to open. So I snuck in 15 mins of reading in the truck and got through a couple good articles:) that was nice!

sorry — 15 minutes ago

I guess I was being a little too facetious…although not entirely…as I’ve said elsewhere, I’m partial to a bit of vengeance now and then. I know: evil.

I guess if Jane’s feeling vulnerable to his influence, my suggestion may have been amiss.

I insist however that with the necessary amount of humor and tact it could be just what the doctor ordered

clean for 30 minutes for 30 days

In response to Mike's entry, "I guess I started again."…
Work up to it! — 25 minutes ago

I once read that it takes 30 days to form a habit, so this made a lot of sense to me. Seemed like a good way to get in the habit of keeping things tidy—so they don’t get so out of hand that the job just seems too big to tackle.

Unfortunately, I’ve fallen out of the groove on this one. I find that if my routine gets disrupted, like with a vacation, or the holidays, I quickly forget about this one. Maybe it’ll be easier after the new year. I’m still going to keep plugging away at it, even if it is only two or three days a week (if that much) for now.

Anyway, good luck if you decide to add this one to your list!

take stock of my days

Someone gave my five year old — 26 minutes ago

a bunch of them last month and I had no idea what they were. I still don’t really, but we decided to keep them. He brought one in a backpack to school and took it out to show his friends on the bus. He came home beaming and said, “Everyone thought I was so cool today!” I thought, but honey, it’s not that roly poly plastic toy that makes you so cool, how come they haven’t figured that out yet?

I think you handled your situation beautifully, Catherine. Your instincts always seem to be correct.
