So last week I gave one month’s notice at my current job. Now I just have to find another job, and pronto, as I have no savings and will be severely screwed if I’m unemployed longer than two weeks. And I decided to do it all over the Christmas season, bless my soul! I’m insane! And already this job is painfully boring…when oh when do I get to leave?

As the second half to her Christmas present, Marin took me shooting at her range. It was fun and quite scary….a lot harder than I thought. The recoil was hard to get used to and anticipating the shot threw off everything and was really, really hard not to do. All in all, though, it was a fun experience and worth the sore arms the next day!
I can’t believe that I wrote that my job was something I enjoy….I think I meant more along the lines of something I can stand, with people that I enjoy, that pays well. In any case, I finally have a solid exit strategy! Sadly, it involves three more years of school. But, no matter! At the end I will be contented and fulfilled (Inshaallah). Jan-Mar I will be taking one evening pre-req class at community college, followed by going full time the next quarter (with a little help from MORE student loans and grandma), and within a year I should be in a two year nursing program. I’m excited, all the nurse I know like, if not love, their jobs and it pays well and I can work anywhere in the world with it! More than that, just having an escape plan is really the only way I’m dealing with my soul-killing current job. So kudos to me for finally settling on something…
